Winterferie

--

She sits on the metal park bench
Smelling the greasy city stench
Her eyes are empty, hard and cold
She has no wonderful memories to hold

Her clothes are a slick and shiny black
Her greasy brown hair falls down her back
She finds love in nothing and no one
And in her life there is no fun

Death is creeping in her shadow
Silently knocking at her window
She wants so desperately to let go
To leave the empty world she knows

A small boy runs across the park
Oblivious to the solemn, gloomy dark
So innocent he seems in her eyes
The ones so empty and full of lies

Playing with a safety pin on her sleeve
Suddenly she understands she has to believe
Is there more to life than sorrow and doubt?
She never knew til she stayed to find out...
Mmm, written after reading a poem about a certain someone I know, and put this together in an effort to either make her feel better or give her hope.

Or at the very least, share the imagery she sometimes gives me, ha. -shot-

I have no idea how she'll react to this. But as always, glean whatever you like~

sorrow is a terrible feeling...

it's a great poem :) You're so caring to write this from thoughts of a friend. Hope all is well with her.

Reminds me of a couple poems [link] [link] I wrote while thinking of my girlfriend's past.
